Data Quality Blog Roundup (December '08 Edition)

winter

With everyone busy over the holiday period there was a marked drop in data quality blog activity but several posts caught our eye in the last few weeks.

Hope you find the following of use and if we missed your blog please drop us a line so we catch you next time.

Data Quality Blog Roundup (December '08 Edition)

Starting Your Own Personal Data Quality Crusade - Steve Sarsfield from Trillium has released a series of information quality banners on his blog. Great for adding to your email signatures, intranet pages or anywhere else you can use to promote the message of IQ improvement.

Taxonomy, The Constitution Of Product Data Quality (part 1)- Yossi Rissin opens up a series on Taxonomies, look forward to reading more as this series develops as I believe many organisations are lacking the correct taxonomies for their product hierarchies etc.

Google add a "Data Quality" tab to improve search - Google Base is a great online app that allows you to search literally millions of products, holidays, people online. The problem is that data quality can often be hit and miss so Google have added a feature to help you improve the quality of your submitted data to help you increase sales.

End the year with some data quality fun! - The Human Inference guys add a bit of humour to the data quality blogosphere, don't read if easily offended!

Directed data quality assessment - David Loshin provides some useful pearls of wisdom regarding data profiling and relevancy.
